This product had clearly been used. Out of the box there was hair on everything. It appears to be genital hair. DISGUSTING!

This is a massive improvement over the previous multigrooms in terms of build quality. The thing has HEFT and feels quality. However, you lose out in user experience in the following ways:

> No adjustable beard comb. Can't buy more combs. Big downgrade. I knew this already, but it still sucks. The big issue is going in increments. I'll probably have to buy a cheap beard trimmer on the side.
> The power button is poorly situated. It's really easy to accidentally click especially when removing heads. You get use to it though so you can avoid it
> The foil seems to perform slightly worse than the previous one. The same goes for the precision trimmer, but well, the precision trimmer is better for reasons I mention below.

But now for positives
> The main metal trimmer performs really well, it's a definite improvement
> Again, build quality overall, it feels heavy, but still nice to hold, aside from the power button
> Even though the precision trimmer has worse performance, it being very narrow makes it GREAT to trim/clean up/shape around the chin area on your beard. Also useful for trimming your stache but you could use the main trimmer for that as well.
> Battery life is INSANE. I've had it for 1.5 months, use it every other day and haven't charged it yet

I bought a Braun BT 5065 initially because of the lack of adjustable comb but ended up returning it and getting this instead.

So far so good, well see how durability is over time compared to the previous generation (which for me consistently died in 2 years from the same cause)

PS: If you don't care about the foil, get the 5000 series and save half the price

Amazon listed this as "a newer version" of one they sold, and which I was considering. I decided to take a chance. There are actually too-many options for my use. I basically use the same trim depth and the nose/ear hair cutter. But I like the feel of the machine, and how it performs.
I would have liked trimmer attachment that would allow a bit longer beard length than the 7 mm. one, but have come to like the newer and shorter length.
ON/OFF switch is located where it can easily be activated and shut off the trimmer while you are using it. Not a deal-breaker by any means One just has to pay attention to how one holds it when in use, or... push ON again.
Some reviews have stated that the plastic attachments are flimsy. In my opinion, this is not the case.
If needed - say in 10 or 15 years - I would purchase another one from Philips, assuming I make it to 85.

Can shave face/beard, head, and body. [Did not use on back and chest.] Many attachments for shaving and shaping hair includes 1-1/4" and 1-5/8" shaving heads for face and head/body. There is also a 5/16" head for shaping, a foil blade for more sensitive areas, and circular attachment for ear and nose hair. Light weight, long battery life, and can shave wet. Able to perform my first hair cut (including fade); along with beard, nose, ears, and pelvis. This is remarkable value for money; paid for itself after 6 weeks of government shutdown of barbers. 1 star less than perfect due to placement of on/off button. Very easy to hit button while shaving; which can be quite annoying (hair pulling) especially when cutting the back of the head. Ease of cleaning is okay. You can run it under the tap, however, the space under the blade attachment is a well for hair fragments and there is some sort of white grease (?) from the shaving heads that can trap hair fragments. Definitely would recommend for non-commercial use and full body shaving.
NOTE: To properly mark hairlines you will also need a (safety or straight) razor.

Really the best clipper I've ever had.. strong, silent.. about half noise compared to my Braun 7 series , battery lasts forever and all included attachments are very usefull. Nothing is missing. I wanted quality and that's what I got, highly satisfied of my purshase.

Absolutely LOVE Philips clippers, never had issues and batteries last quite a while before requiring charge. Upgraded from the 5000 series and have zero regrets. The amount of pieces that come with this set have completely replaced ALL hair clipping tools I previously used, and that is a big plus when travelling. My ONLY complaint is the power button placement, when cutting your hair it's very easy to push it and get hair caught in the machine. It can be avoided with more use and practice, so i'm still giving it 5 stars.

So I'm a black guy with 4C hair and I needed a pair of clippers to use during quarantine. I bought a cheaper pair before these that did nothing but pull painfully at my hair. These were about $40 more but they were worth it, cut through my hair with no problem. A very close cut too! They're pain free, versatile, not too loud, easy to clean, and have good battery life. I really have no serious complaints. I'd like to see how they hold up over time, and I'll update my review if anything changes but I recommend them highly at the moment.

I've been using this for about 6 months now and the battery life hasn't changed, and the blades haven't seemed to have gotten dull. The sheer amount of attachments for the thing is a little overwhelming but once you have the 5-6 you typically use down pat it's not so bad. My only complaint is the location of the power button. I find that when trimming hard to reach places like the back of my head, I accidentally press the power button turning the thing off. Doesn't cause any problems but it's just a pain to have to turn it back on again and guess where I was before to continue trimming. Of the power button was closer to the bottom of the device they could eliminate this issue, but like I say it's not a big problem.

It's great, keep a long charge, tons of good attachments, super sharp.. very sharp. My husband didn't realize there were capable of cutting his balls off.. but other that that, we love them!

1.0 out of 5 stars If you ever used an adjustment length slider before, you will be appalled with this

Coming from a Philips Norelco Multigroom 5100, I blindly purchased this since it was supposedly the "newer" version of the model I had before. While the trimmer itself seems to be built of high quality, there is one glaring flaw in this unit in that none of the head attachments have adjustable sliders anymore. Want to go from 1mm to 2mm? You are now expected to remove the head and replace it with another one! Not to mention you have to store 23 pieces where some pieces aren't even labeled at all as to which length they are. This trimmer had 5 star potential, but the major downgrade in common sense and user friendliness makes this an insta-return for me. Anyone who has used an adjustable length trimmer head before will have no tolerance in this regressive design decision. Even worse, Philips doesn't sell an adjustable head compatible with this model.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dealbreaker: You can't buy additional guards

Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2018

I was really looking forward to this groomer and was pleased with the quality once I opened the box. However, the lack of ability to buy additional guards in different sizes really limits the usefulness of this product. I purchased this to replace my norelco beardtrimmer which was starting to die and feeling a bit cheap. I thought upgrading to their more expensive multigroom "All-in-one trimmer" would be a great improvement. This was definitely not the case. My old trimmer had the adjustable "wheel" that allowed you to move the guard up/down a little with each click, which gave the ability to pick your desired length. However, with this model, and all other "multigroomer" models offered by norelco, they send you a set of guards in different sizes for their different trimmer attachments. Once you get to the "hair trimmer" guards, they jump in size quite drastically. (9mm, 12mm, 16mm) As someone who likes their beard on the bigger/longer side, I have no ability to go longer than 16mm, as well as the difference between 12mm and 16mm is a bit much. This wouldn't be an issue if norelco offered additional guards in other sizes but upon reaching out to the company, they stated they do not make additional guard sizes. So, despite being a very nice, and what seems to be quality groomer (although I've only had it for a month and there is plastic where the trimmer connects to the motor) I really wish I went with another brand who offers additional guard sizes. Chalk this one up to poor research prior to purchase. (although, someone did ask this question and was answered by a person saying they were available from "official guards reseller"). If you're looking for the ability to trim your beard, or hair, to a specific length, you should look elsewhere.

Product is really good.its very well made and it will last for years.but the main problem is the blades are not that good.they dont do the job properly.blades are too much thick. normal phillips trimmers are far better than this and does the job far better.
